Joining the Chamber…

Joining the Chamber of Commerce seems like a no-brainer to someone who is into business and entrepreneurship. However, when you look at joining the Chamber of Commerce and the fees and the process, sometimes It can be a little distracting. In my experience in joining the Chamber of Commerce with Hutchinson, Kansas, this is exactly what happened to me.
I would visit the website, I would get to the PDF form to fill it out, realize it was not a fillable PDF, download the PDF, and then never get around to filling it out—month after month after month. I put off joining the Chamber of Commerce, even though I knew I should have joined the Chamber of Commerce.

Finally, last month, I was able to download, fill out, submit, and pay for my Chamber of Commerce membership with Hutchinson. It is one of the best decisions I have made so far, based on my most recent experiences. In the last two months, I have gone to two separate events. One was at Great Plains Bank on 30th and the other was at Heartland Credit Union on 23rd and Severance.

Both events were super high-quality events with phenomenal people and a wonderful, friendly atmosphere on top of snacks, beverages, and prizes. When I attended my first event, I ended up winning the door prize, which was a piggy bank from High Plains Bank and was full of cash. So that was quite the surprise after joining the chamber.
If you are a business or someone thinking of opening a business in Hutchinson or Reno County, I would strongly I highly recommend that you join the Chamber of Commerce with Hutchinson, Kansas, and don’t do what I did. Don’t follow my example. Download the PDF, fill it in, submit it, and submit your payment and join the chamber.

It is well worth it. The people are amazing. The events are great. Uh, it’s a fun, open time. No matter what the crowd is at any of these events, they seem to be welcoming, eager to meet people and to share their experiences of doing business here in Hutchinson. So again, I can’t say it enough. If you’ve been on the fence about joining the Chamber of Commerce, or if you’ve been distracted in the process, I want to encourage you to follow through on it, get it done and enjoy it.
I’ll see you there.
